Invitation to the special session at EuropaCat 2025 - Electrification of catalytic reactions and reactors

With the fresh start in the new year, our project team is already looking forward to the second joint event in 2025 to present our results in developing novel technologies for catalytic reactions in electrified reactors at EuropaCat 2025! We invite you to submit your contributions to the topic!

After the very successful joint workshop “The Electric Decade”, the five ongoing European projects e¬CODUCTEReTechēQATORTITAN and STORMING are again organising a topical session on “Electrification of Catalytic Reactions and Reactors” at EuropaCat 2025. The session aims to provide a forum for the latest innovations in the use of electricity to power catalytic reactions and reactors instead of traditional fossil resources. The session will be chaired by Joris Thybaut, Ghent University, Belgium and Marilena Radoiu, Microwave Technologies Consulting, France.

Contributions to this session are expected on “advances in energy optimization and efficiency”,” novel reactor design and material components”, “challenges and innovative solutions for electrically powering catalytic reactions”, or “the role of electrification in the decarbonisation of the chemical process industry”. Insights will be given into the latest technological developments and potential applications of electrification to reduce emissions, improve process control and enable green chemistry.

The session is open for submissions by any author, i.e. abstracts not related to any of the five organising projects are welcome and even encouraged, as is on-site participation in the session!

Further information on the announced special sessions can be found on the EuropaCat 2025 webpage. Information on abstract submission can be found here. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 January 2025.
