European Commission Introduces Code of Conduct for Responsible Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies

In response to growing concerns about the health, environmental and ethical impacts of nanosciences and nanotechnologies, the European Commission has presented a comprehensive code of conduct. This ground-breaking initiative addresses seven key principles that emphasise sustainability, precaution, inclusiveness and responsibility.

The Commission aims to promote these principles in universities, research organisations and companies across the European Union. By promoting widespread adoption of these practises, it aims to ensure the safe development and use of nanotechnologies.

The e-CODUCT consortium is in line with this recommendation as it adheres to the Code of Conduct for Responsible Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies Research. Access the full recommendation here.
