As part of the e-CODUCT techno-economic (TEA) and sustainability assessment and life-cycle analysis (LCA) of the e-CODUCT process, project partner UGENT, in cooperation with PDC and DECHEMA, developed an online industrial process planning tool.
The tool serves as a module for optimizing the energy flows in the e-CODUCT system to minimize the operational costs, and promotes a positive environmental impact by balancing production planning and energy needs, taking into account fluctuations in renewable energy availability that cannot be perfectly predicted. The module will provide economic insights for use in the TEA and LCA of the e-CODUCT process, in which challenging feedstocks – H₂S and CO₂ waste streams – are converted into valuable products: methanol and sulphur.
The tool is available online at https://reveal.ugent.be/dash3/.
