CFD model of the ETFB reactor for COS decomposition

The e-CODUCT WP3 activities for the electrothermal fluidised bed conversion of COS in CO are underway. Project partner CONOT, together with National Institute of Chemistry (Slovenia) started to develop a CFD model of the ETFB reactor for the decomposition of COS, which is an important step towards optimal operation of the reactor. The preliminary results (20 000 particles (diameter 2 mm) with 5 m/s inlet velocity) show the distribution of gas and particle velocities in the reactor.
