24GA e-CODUCT progress and advisory board meeting

On 1 and 2 October 2024, the e-CODUCT consortium met in Breda (The Netherlands) to discuss the status and progress after the second year of project implementation. Project partner PDC hosted the meeting

The coordinator, Joris Thybaut (UGENT), opened the 24M General Assembly. Joris Thybaut explained the objectives of the meeting and gave a brief summary of the progress of the project. The first topics on the agenda were project management and project communication. This was followed by a focussed workshop of WP5/2 and Marco Fabbiani (ENSICAEN) presented the progress of the catalytic test (WP2). This was followed by a workshop WP5/3 and Igor Shlypanikov (CO NOT) presented insights into the P&ID of the pilot line and the ETFB reactor. Another workshop WP5/6 followed during the first day.

An advisory board meeting was held on the second day of the meeting. The members of the e-CODUCT Advisory Board come from the companies LINDE, NextChem and Johnson Matthey. The leaders of the working groups (Hélène Rétot (SG CREE) WP2 – Optimisation of the reaction for the conversion of CO2 to COS; Igor Shlyapnikov (CO NOT) WP3 – Electrothermal fluidised bed conversion of COS to CO; Gleb Veryasov (TOTB) WP4 – Validation of product valorisation; Jeroen Lauwaert (UGENT) WP5 – Process engineering, integration desing and demonstration and Raf Roelant (PDC) WP6 – Techno-economic and sustainability assessment and LCA) presented the scope of work and the results achieved and discussed them with the advisory board.

The e-CODUCT project is going well and the project team is working hard to achieve useful results. The next meeting will take place in April 2025 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), when the pilot will be in operation.
